Your lending / investment benefits the borrower allowing for refinance or purchase where traditional lending might not be available to them. In return, you receive fixed interest income each month and own legal interest on the Land Title Registry.
In case of default, the mortgage administer will act on your behalf to collect the interest plus original investment for you. In most cases, your security lies upon the borrower’s ability to repay as well as the resale value of the real estate your investment is secured against with.
